1. Set your GitHub username

  1. Open your profile and find Related GitHub work. If no username is linked, choose My GitHub ID settings on your own profile.
  2. Enter the username from github.com/example-user, namely example-user. Do not enter a repository, email, organization or authentication token.
  3. Save and reopen your profile. This settings shortcut appears only on your own profile; another researcher must edit their own ID.
  4. Linking an ID neither collects data nor grants GitHub access. Relevant participating scopes need an accessible connection and collected work.

2. Find assigned, authored, discussed and directed work

  1. Find Related GitHub work below AI assessment. It includes assignments, authorship, comments, participation, mentions, app-created items, linked instructions and explicit researcher metadata.
  2. Choose Open, Done or All, then narrow by relation such as Assigned or Authored. Creating an issue does not grant access to someone else's private project.
  3. Four items appear per page. Use Previous, Next and the page indicator to replace the work cards. There is no additional hidden remainder within a page.
  4. Expand an item's Details to inspect its grant, project, board, priority and due date. Use Open on GitHub for the latest state. A shared issue may show several board memberships.
  5. For an empty list, check the username, status filter, active participation and collection. Expand Collection notes for partial or delayed collection warnings.

3. Configure assigned-work deadline reminders

  1. Use Deadline reminder settings on your own profile, or open Notification preferences.
  2. Assigned GitHub task reminders are enabled by default with one-hour and one-day lead times. Change the selections or turn reminders off as needed. Choices range from 15 minutes to one week; previously selected additional lead times are retained.
  3. Since Target date has no time, set the deadline reference time in Seoul. For 18:00 with a one-hour reminder, the target is 17:00 that day.
  4. Check the category's in-platform, email and browser delivery settings and save. Deadline reminders do not wait for a digest.
  5. These reminders cover unfinished work currently assigned to you. Authorship, a mention or a comment alone does not qualify. They depend on collected Target dates and current access, so keep collection healthy.

4. Today’s research: plan, check in and share with your PI

  1. Open the profile menu → Today's research. Check the date, then review assignments, deadlines and events in Today's direction. Use the date picker or arrows to view other daily records.
  2. Choose Write or Edit beside Today's goal, enter your priorities and save. AI plan draft is optional; writing your own plan is fully supported.
  3. Expand Select focus tasks to choose up to three. Use Act on a plan item to prepare a comment, message or other next step. The sections below explain applying drafts and executing actions.
  4. Check new requests and follow-ups in Reports & actions. A red number counts new requests, not unfinished assignments or executions.
  5. View all work opens My work. A written plan and GitHub task state are separate; check the original task state when work is finished.

5. From plans to actions and next-day follow-up

  1. Act on Today’s research opens a side panel beside your plan; Full page opens the dedicated screen. Items in the Follow-ups list open as full pages. The top Follow-ups link returns to the previous filters, page and scroll position. For manual writing, select a section and inspect the linked plan and evidence.
  2. Check the method and destination. A cited issue may suggest commenting on that issue. Expand destination content/recent status to confirm the original you intend.
  3. Write the content or explicitly request an AI wording draft. Saving a draft prepares privately and does not send.
  4. Review the actual account, destination and body in Preview before execution, then approve. Report/event handoffs still require final saving in their forms.
  5. Record results and the next check afterwards. Later review drafts can use this action and confirmed observations as evidence.
